<p>If the instance resource is beyond your business demand, you can degrade the instance.</p> <p><strong>Usage Guidelines</strong></p> <p>1．Only instance specifications can be degraded. CPU and memory of the instance will be upgraded at the same time rather than degrading either of them.</p> <p>2．Only instances of different specifications of the same series are supported to degrade. Instances of standard specifications and of SSD specifications cannot be degraded to each other.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Prerequisites</strong></p> <p>1．The ECS instance status is stopped. An instance in the status of running or being restarted cannot be degraded. We recommend that you perform degrading in low peak of business since stopped instance will interrupt your business. For more information, see Stop an Instance.</p> <p>2．If only instance specifications that is lower than the current configuration can be selected but the current instance specifications is the lowest one in the product series, then the instance cannot be degraded.</p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1．Log in to the <a href="#https://yun.pingan.com/console/ecs/overview" target="_blank">ECS Console</a>.</p> <p>2．In the left navigation pane, click <strong>Instance</strong> to enter the <strong>Instance Management</strong> page.</p> <p>3．Select the target region. In the operation column of the target instance, click <strong>More &gt; Instance Setting &gt; Degrade</strong>.</p> <p>4．In the dialog box of <strong>Degrade Instance Setting </strong>that opens, select the target instance specifications to be degraded.</p> <p>5．Click <strong>Confirm</strong> to enter the <strong>Order Confirmation</strong> page.</p> <p>6．Click <strong>Confirm Degrade</strong> to enter <strong>Payment Result</strong> page.</p> <p><strong>Note:</strong></p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Instance whose CPU is less than 16C cannot be degraded to specifications that is lower than 16C16G.</li> <li>&nbsp;Instances of different types cannot mutually degraded.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Result</strong></p> <p>Click <strong>Manage</strong> to return to the ECS console. Click name of the target instance and you can view the degraded instance type in <strong>Instance Information &gt; Basic Information</strong>.</p>
