Edit Hostname

<p>This article describes how to edit a host name.</p> <p><strong>Prerequisites</strong></p> <p>ECS instances must be <strong>shut down</strong> first. When ECS instances are <strong>running</strong> or <strong>being</strong> <strong>restarted</strong>, host names cannot be edited.</p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1.Log in to the <a href="#https://yun.pingan.com/console/ecs/overview" target="_blank">ECS Console</a>.</p> <p>2.In the left navigation pane, click <strong>Instance</strong> to enter the <strong>Instance Management </strong>page.</p> <p>3.Select the target region, and in the operation column of the target instance click <strong>More</strong> &gt; <strong>System Configuration</strong> &gt; <strong>Edit Hostname</strong>.</p> <p>4.In the <strong>Edit Host Name</strong> dialog box that opens, enter the new host name.</p> <p>5.Click <strong>Confirm.</strong></p> <p><strong>Note:</strong> The host name must begin with a letter and can contain letters, digits and dashes (-), but cannot end with dashes (-). The name should contain a maximum of 64 characters, and multiple host names should be separated by a comma.</p> <p><strong>Result</strong></p> <p>After successful edition, the status of the instance becomes <strong>Modifying Host Name</strong>, and you will see an <strong>Operation succeeded </strong>message at the bottom of the page.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
