<p><strong>Rename Main NIC (NIC0) and Added NIC (Optional)</strong></p> <p>Renaming NICs helps to identify corresponding NICs, but it&rsquo;s optional. You may decide whether to have this operation based on your needs.</p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1.Log in to ECS_A and ECS_B respectively, right click <strong>Start</strong> icon, and select <strong>Run</strong>.</p> <p>2.In the <strong>Run</strong> dialog box that opens, enter ncpa.cpl and click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p>3.On the <strong>Network Connections</strong> page that opens, right click the <strong>nic0</strong> section.</p> <p>4.In the dialog that opens, click <strong>Rename</strong> and enter the new name.</p> <p><strong>Note:</strong> nic0 is the main NIC and nic1 is the added NIC.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Adjust the Order of Main NIC and Added NIC</strong></p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp; Log in to ECS_A and ECS_B respectively, right click <strong>Start</strong> icon, and select <strong>Run</strong>.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; In the <strong>Run</strong> dialog box that opens, enter ncpa.cpl and click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p>3.On the <strong>Network Connections</strong> page that opens, press the <strong>alt</strong> key, and in the top menu, click <strong>Advanced</strong> &gt; <strong>Advanced Settings</strong>.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; On the <strong>Advanced Settings</strong> page that opens, adjust the order of nic0 and nic1 by clicking the up or down arrow to make sure that nic0 is before nic1.</p> <p>5.Upon completion, click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Adjust Metric Number of Main NIC and Added NIC</strong></p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp; Log in to ECS_A and ECS_B respectively, right click <strong>Start</strong> icon, and select <strong>Run</strong>.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; In the <strong>Run</strong> dialog box that opens, enter ncpa.cpl and click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p>3.&nbsp; On the <strong>Network Connections</strong> page that opens, right click the nic0 section.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; In the menu that opens, click <strong>Properties</strong> and <strong>nic0 Properties</strong> page will open.</p> <p>5.&nbsp; Under <strong>This connection uses the following items</strong>, select <strong>Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) </strong>and click<strong> Properties.</strong></p> <p>6.&nbsp; On the <strong>Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties</strong> page that opens, click <strong>Advanced</strong> in the lower-right corner.</p> <p>7.&nbsp; On the <strong>Advanced TCP/IP Settings</strong> page that opens, uncheck <strong>Automatic Metric </strong>in the <strong>IP Settings</strong> area, and behind <strong>Interface Metric Number</strong> enter the metric number, in this case enter 8.</p> <p>8.&nbsp; Click <strong>Confirm</strong>. If a message suggesting multiple gateways pops up, just click <strong>Yes</strong> to save the configuration.</p> <p>9.&nbsp; Then, set the metric number of nic1 as 10 with the above method.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Add a Static Route to Routing Table</strong></p> <p><strong>NIC 1 of ECS_A Accesses NIC1 of ECS_B</strong></p> <p>Procedures</p> <p>1.&nbsp; Log in to the accessed ECS_B, right click <strong>Start</strong> icon and click <strong>Run</strong>.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; In the <strong>Run dialog</strong> box that opens, enter cmd and click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p>3.&nbsp; In the cmd command prompt, enter <strong>ipconfig /all</strong> to acquire the IPv4 address and subnet mask of ECS_B nic1.</p> <p><strong>Note</strong>: nic1 is normally the second nic in the list, and its name may not be nic 1. Operate in accordance with actual situation.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; Here we can see the IP address (10.17.60.10) and the subnet mask (255.255.255.128) of ECS_B nic1.</p> <p>5.&nbsp; In the same way, the default gateway (10.17.56.1) of ECS_A nic1 can be viewed.</p> <p>6.&nbsp; Add a route to the persistent routing table by inputting:</p> <p><strong>route add 10.17.60.0 mask 255.255.255.128 10.17.56.1 &ndash;p.</strong></p> <p>Specifically,</p> <ul> <li>10.17.60.0 and 255.255.255.128 are the subnets of nic1 of the to-be-accessed ECS_B.</li> <li>10.17.56.1 is the default gateway of nic1 of the accessing ECS_A.</li> <li>&ndash;p represents persistent routing and the routing table will not disappear even after Windows is restarted.</li> </ul> <p>7.&nbsp; You can either enter &quot;route print -4&quot; to check IPV4 routing table or enter &quot;route print&quot; to view the entire routing table.</p> <p><strong>NIC 1 of ECS_B Accesses NIC1 of ECS_A</strong></p> <p>To add a static route to routing table, see NIC 1 of ECS_A Accesses NIC1 of ECS_B.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Delete a Static Route</strong></p> <p>If you need to delete an added route, you can simply input the following command:</p> <p><strong>route delete 10.17.60.0 mask 255.255.255.128</strong></p> <p>Specifically,</p> <ul> <li>10.17.60.0 is the target network address.</li> <li>255.255.255.128 is the subnet mask of the target network.</li> </ul>
