<p>If you do not need an ECS instance for your business, you can release it. The instance will not be billed after release. This article describes how to release an ECS instance.</p> <p><strong>Prerequisites</strong></p> <p>1．&nbsp;&nbsp; The ECS instance status is stopped. An instance in the status of running or being restarted cannot be released. For more information, see Stop an Instance.</p> <p>2．&nbsp;&nbsp; The ECS instance does not have associated components such as security groups, EIP, PHS, EBS or VPC.</p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1．Log in to<a href="#https://yun.pingan.com/console/ecs/overview" target="_blank"> ECS Console</a>.&nbsp;</p> <p>2．In the left navigation pane, click <strong>Instance</strong> to enter <strong>Instance Management</strong> page.</p> <p>3．Select the target region. In the operation column of the target instance, click <strong>More &gt; Status Management &gt; Release.</strong></p> <p>4．In the dialog box of <strong>Release Instance</strong> that opens, click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p>5．In the dialog box of <strong>Sure to delete related Resources </strong>that opens, click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Note:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Instance of monthly subscription can be applied for <strong>after-sale refund</strong> in <strong>Ticket</strong> module. After ticket of after-sale refund is created, it is available to release resource and settle remaining fees.</li> <li>If you select <strong>Release</strong> on <strong>Instance Management</strong> page, the resource will be released and fees will not be settled.</li> <li><strong>Release</strong> below the instance list is for bulk operations and is one-click release function. It requires to confirm that there is no dependent resource such as security group, EIP, PHS, EBS, or VPC before using <strong>Release</strong> function.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Result</strong></p> <p>When the resource is released, it cannot be viewed on <strong>Instance Management</strong> page.</p>
