<p>Ping An Cloud&rsquo;s BMS (Bare Metal Service) is a bare metal computing service with horizontal scalability, and allows a tenant to have exclusive access to servers&rsquo; physical resources. Bare metal servers feature sound security due to physical separation, and enjoy extraordinary capabilities in computing and reading and writing data. BMS supports both auto scaling and pay-as-you-go purchase methods, and customers can select servers of different models and configurations based on their needs and set up their core business with rapidity and security. Since Ping An Cloud is responsible for the supply, operation and maintenance of servers, customers can focus on building up their own businesses.</p> <p>Compared with normal ECS, BMS owns all the resources of a physical server without the virtual layer and the corresponding performance loss, and thus is applicable to more use cases. BMS allows its tenants to have exclusive access to all the resources of the physical servers they subscribe, while the physical hardware of a normal ECS server is shared by multiple tenants.</p> <p>Compared with DH, BMS provides various operating systems and grants tenants administrative access to directly use physical resources such as CPU, memory and disks of physical servers. The operating system of DH physical servers, on the other hand, cannot be changed and the DH tenants have no administrative access to host servers to directly use the physical resources of the servers, but only the authorization to utilize the resources, i.e. create dedicated ECS instances to access the resources.</p> <p>BMS provides hardware configured with the most completed standard components and service packages for servers&rsquo; computer-bound and I/O-bound tasks. Ping An Cloud&rsquo;s BMS, ECS, Cloud Storage and other services can be integrated as a comprehensive architecture to be applied in different use cases. Compared with traditional hosting services, BMS features self-service, efficiency and the same capability of delivery as ECS.</p>
