What is CDN?

Content Delivery Network (CDN) is to cache the resources of the source station to the acceleration nodes of Ping An Cloud distributed in different areas. When the end user requests access to these resources, there is no need to back to source, and the system will call the resources already cached on the CDN node to respond to the users’ requests. Therefore, CDN plays a role of shunting, so that most of the users requests are completed at the CDN edge node, thereby effectively sharing the pressure of the source station, avoiding network congestion, reducing access delay, and enabling the user to acquire the contents they need as quickly as possible, which greatly improves the response speed and access experience of users.

Overview

Ping An Cloud CDN provides a distributed network of edge node server groups distributed in different areas, replacing the traditional data transmission mode which is centered on Web Server. It distributes contents of the source station to edge nodes and users requests to the ideal nodes matching with a precise dispatching system, which effectively solve the Internet network congestion situation, and elevates the response speed of user access.

The process of HTTP request processing after using Ping An Cloud CDN is as follows:

Scenarios

• There are far physical distances between the user and the business server which require multiple network forwarding, resulting in high transmission delay and instability.

• The carrier of the user is different from the carrier where the service server is located. The users’ requests require interconnection and forwarding between operators.

• The business server has limited network bandwidth and processing capacity, resulting in reduced response rate and availability when a large number of user requests are received.
