Automatic Renewal

This article describes how to enable automatic renewal after an RDS PostgreSQL instance is created but the automatic renewal is not enabled.

Overview

If the RDS PostgreSQL instance you purchased is of subscription (monthly) and expected to be continuously used at its expiration, you can enable automatic renewal:

  • Automatic renewal can be enabled when you create an instance. For more information, see Create a General Instance; if you do not want automatic renewal after it is enabled, you can manually disable it.
  • If automatic renewal is not enabled when you create an instance, you can also manually enable it after creating the instance.

Usage Guidelines

  1. Make sure the account balance is sufficient.
  2. When you create an RDS PostgreSQL instance, the billing method is subscription (monthly)
  3. Automatic renewal cycle of the system is one month.
  4. Only automatic renewal for a general instance and read-only instance is provided. Automatic renewal policy of a DR instance is the same as that of a general instance.

Procedures

1.  Log in to RDS Console.

2.  In the left navigation pane, click RDS-PostgreSQL to enter the DBPaaS for RDS-PostgreSQL page.

3.  Select the target region and click  > Automatic Renewal in the operation column of the target instance and enter the Configure Automatic renewal page.

4.  Click Yes of the Automatic Renewal and click Confirm.

: Automatic renewal cycle is one month.

Result

Method 1:

  1. On Payment Result page, click View Order to enter the Product Order page.
  2. The Status of target order is All finished.

Method 2:

In the left navigation pane, click RDS-PostgreSQL. On the DBPaaS for RDS-PostgreSQL page, select the target region and click Manage in the operation column of the target cluster instance. On the Information tab, the Automatic Renewal is Yes.
