Modify Parameters

<p>This article describes how to modify some parameters of RDS MySQL in the RDS console.</p> <p><span style="font-size:18px"><strong>Overview</strong></span></p> <p>You can modify advanced parameters that are relevant to MySQL engine in the RDS console to optimize performance.</p> <p>A general instance, disaster recovery instance and read-only instance support modifying parameters.</p> <p>Some parameters will be valid after you manually reboot the instance. For more information about these parameters, see prompt messages in the console. For more information about rebooting an instance, see <a href="http://pinganyun.com/ssr/help/database/RDS/User_Guide_RDS_MySQL.Instance_Management.Restart.Restart_Common_Instance" target="_blank">Reboot an Instance</a>.</p> <p><span style="font-size:18px"><strong>Prerequisites</strong></span></p> <p>You have successfully created an instance. For more information, see <a href="http://pinganyun.com/ssr/help/database/RDS/User_Guide_RDS_MySQL.Instance_Management.Create_Instance.Create_Common_Instance" target="_blank">Create a General Instance</a>, <a href="http://pinganyun.com/ssr/help/database/RDS/User_Guide_RDS_MySQL.Instance_Management.Create_Instance.Create_Slave_Instance" target="_blank">Create a Remote Disaster Recovery Instance</a> or <a href="http://pinganyun.com/ssr/help/database/RDS/User_Guide_RDS_MySQL.Instance_Management.Create_Instance.Create_Read_Only_Instance" target="_blank">Create a Read-Only Instance</a>.</p> <p><span style="font-size:18px"><strong>Usage Guidelines</strong></span></p> <ol> <li>When you modify a parameter of a general instance, the same parameter of the citywide and remote disaster recovery instance will be modified at the same time and the value of the parameter is identical with that of the general instance.</li> <li>Parameters of a read-only instance can be modified independently from parameters of a general instance. You can modify the parameter value of a citywide or remote read-only instance respectively in the RDS console. The parameter value of a citywide instance and remote read-only instance can be different from each other, and different from that of a general instance.</li> <li>After you modify parameters of the instance that needs to reboot, you need to manually reboot the general instance, citywide read-only instance, or remote read-only instance.</li> <li>In the process of rebooting an instance, the system will be interrupted in seconds. We recommend that you modify parameters in the<strong> time segment</strong> you set.</li> </ol> <p><span style="font-size:18px"><strong>Procedures</strong></span></p> <p>1.&nbsp; Log in to the <a href="http://pinganyun.com/console/rds/overview" target="_blank">RDS Console</a>.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; In the left navigation pane, click <strong>RDS-MySQL</strong> to enter the <strong>DBPaaS for RDS-MySQL</strong> page.</p> <p>3.&nbsp; Select the target region.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; In the <strong>Operations </strong>column of the target instance, click <strong>Manage</strong>. Select <strong>Parameters</strong> tab.</p> <p>5.&nbsp; Modify the parameter value in the field of <strong>Current Value</strong> of the target parameter.</p> <p>6.&nbsp; In the upper-right corner of the page, click <strong>Modify</strong> to submit result.</p> <p><img src="https://obs-cn-shanghai.yun.pingan.com/pcp-portal/20200607134501-1057fdfd988b.png" style="height:255px; width:830px" /></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px"><strong>Result</strong></span></p> <p>You will see an <strong>Operation succeeded</strong> message at the bottom of the page. <strong>Current Value</strong> of the modified parameter will be grayed out and can be edited after you refresh it.</p>
