Upgrade Instance Specification

This article describes how to upgrade computing specification and storage specification of instances.

Overview

When a general instance is created successfully, you can upgrade computing specification and storage specification of instance in the capacity management of the DDS management console.

Prerequisites

You have successfully created a general instance. For more information, see Create a General Instance.

Usage Guidelines

1. When computing specification is upgraded, intermittent disconnection may arise in your application and database. You shall reestablish the connection. We recommend that you upgrade computing specification within the Time Segment you set.

2. When you upgrade computing specification of the general instance, you will synchronously upgrade computing specification of citywide disaster recovery instance. If you create a remote disaster recovery instance, computing specification of the remote disaster recovery instance will also be upgraded synchronously, and computing specification of the local and remote disaster recovery instances will be consistent with that of the general instance.

3. When you upgrade storage specifications of the general instance, the system will not arise in intermittent disconnection. But storage specifications of all instances you created will be upgraded synchronously, including disaster recovery instances (excluding temporary recovery instances). Storage specification of other instances will be consistent with that of the general instance.

4. After you successfully upgraded capacity, you will be billed by the new memory specifications. For more information about billing, see Product Price.
