Create Images

<p><strong>Prerequisites</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp; The status of the Dedicated Instance is <strong>Stopped</strong>.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; For the Linux system, execute the following cleanup command:<strong> rm -f /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-* /var/lib/dhclient/* /var/lib/dhcp/*</strong></p> <p><strong>Usage Guidelines</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp; When creating a custom image for a Linux instance, we recommend that you first unmount all file systems and data disks on the instance and stop the instance in advance. Otherwise, instances created with the image may fail to start.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; When creating a custom image for a Linux instance, do not include data disk information in file <strong>/etc/fstab</strong>. Otherwise, the instance created by using this image cannot be started.</p> <p>3.&nbsp; Do not upgrade the kernel and operating system at will.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; Do not modify key system files, such as <strong>/etc/</strong>, <strong>/boot</strong>, <strong>/usr</strong>, <strong>/bin</strong>, and <strong>sbin</strong>.</p> <p>5.&nbsp; A snapshot will be automatically created when you create an image. The snapshot occupies the snapshot quota. You can decide whether to delete it according to your needs.</p> <p><strong>Restrictions</strong></p> <p>A user can create a maximum of five custom images.</p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp; Log in to the<a href="#https://pinganyun.com/console/dedicatedEcs/host" target="_blank"> Dedicated Host Console</a>.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; In the left navigation pane, click <strong>Dedicated Instance</strong> to enter the <strong>Instance Management</strong> page.</p> <p>3.&nbsp; Click the <strong>More</strong> icon <strong>︙</strong> in the <strong>Operations</strong> column of the target instance to expand the list.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; Click <strong>Create Image</strong>.</p> <p>5.&nbsp; On the page that opens, enter the image name and a description.</p> <p>6.&nbsp; Click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Result</strong></p> <p>An <strong>O</strong><strong>peration Succeeded</strong> message is displayed. You will see the newly created image on the <strong>Image</strong> page.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
