Roll Back a Snapshot

This article describes how to roll back a snapshot.

Prerequisites

• You have created snapshots for the disk to be rolled back, and are not creating new ones for it.

• The instance must be in Stopped status before you roll back the disk.

Usage Guidelines

• Before rolling back the snapshot, make sure its dependent resources exist. Otherwise, the complete information cannot be restored after the rollback.

Example 1: A user binds a key pair to log in to the Host at time t1, creates a snapshot s1, unbinds the key pair at t2, performs a password login, and then deletes the key pair. In this case, if the user rolls back to s1, the key pair cannot be used to log in to the Host.

Example 2: A user has two NICs, creates a snapshot s1, deletes NIC 1 at t2, and restores s1 at t3. In this case, NIC 1 cannot be restored by snapshot.

• If the system is reinstalled, the previous system disk snapshot cannot be used to roll back the new system disk.

Procedures

1. Log in to the Dedicated Host Console.

2. In the left navigation pane, click Dedicated Disk to enter the Disk page.

3. Select the target region, and then click the name of the target disk.

4. On the Disk Information page, click Revert in the Operations column of the target snapshot in the Snapshot area.

5. Click Confirm in the dialog box that opens.

Note: To roll back system disks or data disks, the instance must be in Stopped status.

Result

An Operation succeeded message is displayed at the bottom of the page.
