Create a Snapshot Policy

<p>An automatic snapshot policy enables the system to automatically create snapshots at user-defined intervals. We recommend that you avoid business peak hours when creating an automatic snapshot. This article describes how to create an automatic snapshot.</p> <p><strong>Restrictions</strong></p> <p>You can configure a maximum of four snapshot policies for one disk.</p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp; Log in to the<a href="#https://pinganyun.com/console/dedicatedEcs/host" target="_blank"> Dedicated Host Console</a>.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; In the left navigation pane, click <strong>Dedicated Disk</strong> to enter the <strong>Disk</strong> page.</p> <p>3.&nbsp; Select the target region, and then click the name of the target disk.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; On the <strong>Disk Information</strong> page, click<strong> Create Automatic Snapshot Policy</strong> in the <strong>Automatic Snapshot Policy</strong> area.</p> <p>5.&nbsp; On the <strong>Create Automatic Snapshot Policy</strong> page, create an automatic snapshot policy as described in the following table.</p> <table border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="background-color:#ededed; vertical-align:top"> <p><strong>Configuration item</strong></p> </td> <td style="background-color:#ededed; vertical-align:top"> <p><strong>Description</strong></p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="vertical-align:top"> <p>Description</p> </td> <td style="vertical-align:top"> <p>Enter a description for the policy. Options are <strong>Daily</strong>, <strong>Weekly</strong>, and <strong>Monthly</strong>.</p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="vertical-align:top"> <p>Time</p> </td> <td style="vertical-align:top"> <p>Enter a time, an integer in the range of 0 to 23.</p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="vertical-align:top"> <p>Repetition date</p> </td> <td style="vertical-align:top"> <p>When the repetition type is weekly, select a date from Monday to Sunday.</p> <p>When the repetition type is monthly, enter an integer in the range of 1 to 28.</p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="vertical-align:top"> <p>Number of copies retained</p> </td> <td style="vertical-align:top"> <p>Enter the number of copies to be retained. The maximum value is 8. When the number of snapshots for a disk reaches the upper limit, the system will delete the earliest automatic snapshots that were generated by automatic snapshot policies to create a new snapshot.</p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p>6.&nbsp; Click <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Result</strong></p> <p>You will see an<strong> </strong><strong>Operation </strong><strong>s</strong><strong>ucceeded</strong> message<strong> </strong>at the bottom of the <strong>Create Automatic Snapshot Policy</strong> page and the newly created policy in the<strong> Automatic Snapshot Policy</strong> area of the <strong>Disk Information</strong> page.</p>
