Log in to the Linux instance

<p>This article describes how to log in to a Linux instance.</p> <p><strong>Prerequisites</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp; You have successfully created Dedicated Instances. For more information, see the article for creating a Dedicated Instance.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; You have applied for a public IP address. For more information, see the article for applying for a public IP address.</p> <p>3.&nbsp; You have configured access rules for the security group based on the direction of traffic. For more information, see the article for configuring security group rules.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; Make sure the network connectivity between the login tool and the target Dedicated Instance is available. For example, the default port 22 is not blocked by a firewall.</p> <p>5.&nbsp; Your local computer has downloaded PuTTY. To download PuTTY, click downloaded PuTTY.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Windows Client</strong></p> <p>If your local computer runs the Windows operating system, you can log in to a Dedicated Instance as described in this article. This section uses PuTTY as an example.</p> <p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp; Double-click PuTTY to enter its main interface.</p> <p>2.&nbsp; Configure the following session parameters.</p> <ul> <li>In the <strong>Host Name (or IP address)</strong> field, enter the public IP address of the instance.</li> <li>Use the default setting (<strong>SSH</strong>) for <strong>Connection type</strong>.</li> <li>(Optional.) In the <strong>Saved Session</strong> field, enter an easy-to-identify session name, which will enable you to access the session more quickly at next logins.</li> <li>Click <strong>Save</strong>.</li> </ul> <p>3.&nbsp; Click <strong>Open</strong>.</p> <p>4.&nbsp; Enter the username and password. You can obtain the random password on the <strong>Instance Detail</strong> page.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Linux Client</strong></p> <p>If your local computer runs the Linux operating system, you can log in to a Dedicated Instance by entering a command at the command line interface of the computer.</p> <p>Command: <strong>ssh</strong> <em>public IP addres</em></p>
