Create_Cloud_Disk

This article describes how to create a disk.

Method 1:

Prerequisites

The status of the Dedicated Instance is Running.

Procedures

1.  Log in to the Dedicated Host Console.

2.  In the left navigation pane, click Dedicated Disk to enter the Disk page.

3.  Select the target region, and click Create in the upper-right corner to enter the Create Disk page.

Note: The disk and its target Dedicated Instance must be in the same zone. The zone of the disk cannot be changed once created. Select the zone with caution.

4.  Create a disk as described in the following table:

Configuration item

Description

Region

Select a region for the disk.

Zone

Select a zone for the disk.

ECS instance

Select the instance to which the disk is attached. The status of the selected instance must be Running. You cannot mount the disk to a stopped instance.

Product series

Select the product series.

Type

Select the disk type and its size. The value range is 20 GB to 2000 GB.

Description

Enter a description.

Quantity

Select the number of disks. The value range is 1 to 5.

5.  Check your order in the right Configuration List area, and then click Purchase.

Result

You will see an Operation succeeded message at the bottom of the Create Disk page and the newly created disk on the Disk page.

Method 2:

Procedures

1.  Log in to the Dedicated Host Console.

2.  In the left navigation pane, click Dedicated Instance to enter the Instance Management page.

3.  Click Create in the upper-right corner of the page to enter the Create Dedicated Instance page.

4.  Create a disk as described in the following table.

Configuration item

Description

Create Data Disk

Select Yes.

Data Disk

Select a product series.

Size

Select the disk type and enter the disk size. The value range for the disk size is 20 GB to 2000 GB.

Quantity

Select the number of disks. You can create a maximum of five disks.

5.  Click Purchase in the right Configuration List area.

Result

Click the name of the instance to enter the Instance Detail page. The newly created disk is displayed in the Disk Information area.
