The targets of creating snapshots are system disks and data disks. As the operations may affect disk I/O performance, try to avoid peak business time.

The standard name of Ping An Cloud manual snapshots and automatic snapshots is: EBS Disk Name_Year/Month/Day/Hour/Minute/Second, such as

ROOT-9222_20180813145400. System disks start with ROOT and data disks start with other letters.

After a disk is released, manual snapshots will be kept and you can choose whether to delete the automatic snapshots according to the disk attribute. There is a limit on manual snapshots and automatic snapshots. We recommend that you delete the snapshots that are not needed any more.

Attention

For multiple EBS disks mounted to a single instance, it is not recommended to create LVM. Snapshots can be created only for each independent EBS disk. Therefore, after using LVM, data differences will be caused when using snapshots to roll back the EBS disk. Avoid creating multiple snapshots and using different login methods. For example, a user has created four manual snapshots for a system disk, two of which are logged in with random passwords, one with a custom password, and one with a key pair. In this case, when the user rolls back a snapshot, there will be login problems due to inconsistent login methods.
