Process Expanded Disk Capacity in Windows

<p class="shortdesc">After the expansion, you need to allocate the new capacity to existing partitions, or create a new volume using the expanded capacity. This chapter takes Windows2016 as an example to illustrate how to process the capacity after expansion.</p> <section class="section prereq" id="expansionwindows__prereq_awc_lzl_slb"><div class="tasklabel"><h2 class="doc-tairway">Before you begin</h2></div> <ul class="ul" id="expansionwindows__ul_wzh_lzl_slb"> <li class="li">You have mounted the EBS disk and created a volume. </li> <li class="li">You have expanded the capacity of the EBS disk. </li> </ul> </section> <section class="section context"><div class="tasklabel"><h2 class="doc-tairway">About this task</h2></div> <p class="p">Before expansion, we can see on the disk page that the capacity of the data disk is 20 G and unallocated capacity is 0 G. </p> <img class="image" id="expansionwindows__image_htc_hzl_slb" src="https://obs-cn-shanghai.yun.pingan.com/pcp-portal/20200707171847-1a4ff54e98da.png" width="800"> <p class="p">On the console, expand the disk from 20 G to 30 G, and click “Refresh”. <img class="image" id="expansionwindows__image_swr_3zl_slb" src="https://obs-cn-shanghai.yun.pingan.com/pcp-portal/20200707171847-18d4abf09c2a.png">We can see that the capacity of the disk is 30 G and unallocated capacity is 10 G.</p> <img class="image" id="expansionwindows__image_bsh_kzl_slb" src="https://obs-cn-shanghai.yun.pingan.com/pcp-portal/20200707171847-1d5f301090cd.png" width="800"> <p class="p">For the newly added capacity of 10 GB, you can allocate it to existing partitions or create a new volume based on the capacity. </p> </section> <section id="expansionwindows__steps-unordered_y3k_mzl_slb"><div class="tasklabel"><h2 class="doc-tairway">Procedure</h2></div><ul class="ul steps-unordered" id="expansionwindows__steps-unordered_y3k_mzl_slb"><li class="li step stepexpand"> <span class="ph cmd"><strong class="ph b">Allocate newly added capacity to existing partitions</strong></span> <div class="itemgroup info"> <ol class="ol" id="expansionwindows__ol_z3d_nzl_slb"> <li class="li">Connect to the ECS instance remotely.</li> <li class="li">In the volume list, right-click the target volume, and then choose <span class="ph uicontrol">Extend Volume</span>. <img class="image" id="expansionwindows__image_pgg_pzl_slb" src="https://obs-cn-shanghai.yun.pingan.com/pcp-portal/20200707171847-1c3c309d9f3e.png" width="800"></li> <li class="li">In the dialog box that opens, enter the amount of space.
