Through different operations on an EBS disk, it will be in the following status:

Creating (Interim status)
Just after creating an EBS disk, you need to wait a few minutes until the disk is created. During this period, the EBS disk status will be marked as “Creating.”

In-use (Stable status)
After an EBS disk is created, its status becomes “In-use.” An EBS disk is mounted at the same time when you create it. Therefore, “In-use” indicates that you have created an EBS disk and also mounted it. The EBS disk can be used normally. Besides, after you unmount an EBS disk and then mount it again, its status will also eventually turn into “In-use.”

Unmounting (Interim status)
After you unmount an EBS disk on the console, you need to wait a few minutes until the operations are finished.
