It distributes Internet access requests and incoming traffic to multiple ECS instances at the back end to expand the service capability of the applications and enhance the application availability. The Internet-facing ELB provides Layer-4 and Layer-7 load balancing services.</p> <p><strong>Note:</strong> The Internet-facing ELB allows Internet hosts to access ECS instances in a VPC, but ECS hosts in the VPC does not have the ability to actively access the Internet.
