Create a Migration Task
<p>Data migration tasks transmit data between databases. This article describes how to create a data migration task.</p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size:18px">Prerequisites</span></strong></p>
<p>You have successfully created the source and target databases.</p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size:18px">Procedures</span></strong></p>
<p>1. Create a migration task.</p>
<p> a) Log in to the <a href="http://pinganyun.com/console/dts/overview" target="_blank">DTS Console</a>.</p>
<p> b) In the left navigation pane, click <strong>Migration Task</strong> to enter the <strong>Migration Task Management</strong> page.</p>
<p> c) Click <strong>Create</strong> in the upper-right corner of the page to enter the <strong>Create Migration Task</strong> page.</p>
<p>2. Configure the source and target databases.</p>
<p> a) Configure the source and target databases as described in the following table:</p>

<p>Enter account names of the source and target databases.</p>

<p>Enter the passwords of the source database account and of the target database account.</p>

<p> b) Click <strong>Test The Connection</strong> to test the connectivity between the source and target databases.</p>
<p> c) Click <strong>Next Step</strong> after the test succeeds.</p>
<p>3. Configure the migration type.</p>
<p> a) Select the target migration objects, for example, tables, views, functions, and procedures.</p>
<p> b) Select a migration type.</p>
<ul>
<li>If the target database is empty, you must select <strong>Structure Transfer</strong>.</li>
<li>If you want the migration task to be performed with zero downtime, select <strong>Full Migration</strong>,<strong> Structure Transfer</strong>, and <strong>Increment</strong> <strong>Transfer</strong>.</li>
<li>If you want to migrate only the new data, select <strong>Increment Transfer</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<p> c) Click the right arrow icon <img src="https://obs-cn-shanghai.yun.pingan.com/pcp-portal/20200707094419-1f2737b79044.png" style="height:18px; margin:0px; width:20px" /> .</p>

<p>4. Precheck.</p>
<p> a) Click <strong>Precheck and Start</strong> to enter the <strong>Precheck</strong> page.</p>
<p> b) The system will examine every precheck item. If the precheck fails, modify configuration and run the precheck again until the result is a 100% pass.<strong> </strong>To troubleshoot a precheck failure, see Troubleshoot Precheck Failures.</p>

<p> c) Click <strong>Next Step </strong>to enter the <strong>Migration Configuration</strong> page.</p>
<p>5. Set the specification of the migration channel.</p>
<p> a) Select a specification for the migration channel. For more information, see Specifications of Data Migration Channels.</p>

<p> b) DTS is at the open beta stage, you can have a free trail.</p>
<p> c) Click<strong> Purchase and Open</strong> to enter the<strong> Order Confirmation</strong> page and confirm DTS information.</p>
<p>6. Click <strong>Confirm Open</strong>.</p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size:18px">Result</span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Method 1:</strong></p>
<p>On the <strong>Payment Result</strong> page, click <strong>View Order</strong> to enter the <strong>Product Order</strong> page. The <strong>Status</strong> of the target order becomes <strong>Finished</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Method 2:</strong></p>
<p>In the left navigation pane, click <strong>Migration Task</strong> to enter the <strong>Migration Task Management</strong> page. Select the target region, and you can view the migration task that has been created and its migration progress. This section uses a task that contain structure migration, full migration, and incremental migration as an example. The migration progress is as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>Structure migration: Finished</li>
<li>Full migration: Finished</li>
<li>Incremental migration: Not Delayed</li>
