Make a custom image
<p>The article describes private custom image based on an existing ECS instance.</p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px"><strong>Prerequisite</strong></span></p>
<p>1. The ECS instance must be powered off.</p>
<p>2. Release the EIP of the ECS instance before creating an image.</p>
<p>3. The instance has 2 NICs. Please delete NIC 1 before creating an image.</p>
<p>4. For Linux systems, you need to execute the following cleanup command: rm -f /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-* /var/lib/dhclient/* /var/lib/dhcp/*</p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px"><strong>Instructions</strong></span></p>
<p>1. Before creating a custom image on a Linux system, you are advised to unmount all file systems, data disks of the instance and shut down the before creating a custom image. Otherwise, the instance created using the image cannot be started.</p>
<p>2. When creating a custom image for a Linux instance, you cannot include the data disk information in /etc/fstab files. Otherwise, the instance created with the image cannot be started.</p>
<p>3. Do not upgrade the kernel and operating system version at will.</p>
<p>4. Do not adjust the instance system disk partition.</p>
<p>5. Make sure that the system disk has enough free space.</p>
<p>6. Do not modify key system files, such as /etc/, /boot, /usr, /bin, /lib, sbin, etc..</p>
<p>7. The default login user name is root, please do not modify it.</p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px"><strong>Restriction</strong></span></p>
<p>1. A user can create up to 5 custom images.</p>
<p>2. A snapshot is automatically created when you create an image. This snapshot takes up the snapshot quota. You can decide whether to delete as needed.</p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px"><strong>Procedure</strong></span></p>
<p>1. Log in to the<a href="https://yun.pingan.com/console/ecs/overview" target="_blank"> ECS Console</a>.</p>
<p>2. Click <strong>Instance</strong> on the left navigation bar and enter the <strong>Instance Management</strong> page.</p>
<p>3. Select the target region and click<strong> More</strong> > <strong>Operations Management</strong> > <strong>Create</strong> <strong>Image</strong> in the<strong> </strong>operation<strong>s </strong>column of the target instance</p>
<p>4. On the pop-up page of <strong>Create Image, </strong>enter the image name and description.</p>
<p><strong>Note:</strong> The image name can be Chinese, English letters, digits, @, underline, dash with up to 45 characters.</p>
<p>5. Click on <strong>Confirm</strong>.</p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px"><strong>Result </strong></span></p>
<p>“Successfully operated” appears at the bottom of the page after completed. Click <strong>Image and Snapshots</strong> > <strong>Image</strong> on the left navigation bar to view the newly created custom image. After the status changes from <strong>Creating</strong> to <strong>Available</strong>, the custom image creation is completed.</p>
