Trusted cloud service certification

The trusted cloud service certification is carried out by the "trusted cloud service task force" established by the Cloud Computing Development and Policy Forum under the guidance of the Communications Development Division of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The core objectives of certification are to establish a cloud service provider (CSP) evaluation system, provide support for users to choose a safe and credible CSP, and ultimately promote the healthy and orderly development of China's cloud computing market.

Trusted cloud service certification is a certification on cloud computing services organized by the Data Center Alliance and carried out by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (China Academy of Telecommunication Research of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology). The certification fully draws on the advanced experience of Japan, South Korea and Germany, and takes account of the characteristics of China's cloud services market and the core concerns of users. The trusted cloud service certification is divided into three stages: standard compilation, service evaluation and expert's evaluation.

In order to fully reflect the technical indicators and capability of CSPs, the trusted cloud service certification includes 16 metrics in three major categories, i.e. data management category (data storage persistence, data destructibility, data migration, data privacy, data access and data reviewability), business quality category (business functions, business availability, business resilience, failover capability, network access performance and service measurement accuracy), and right protection category (service change, termination clause, service compensation clause, user restriction clause, and provider exemption clause). They basically cover 90% of the issues that the CSPs need to commit to or inform of users (based on SLA). Trusted cloud service certification systematically assesses how the CSPs perform on the 16 indicators so as to provide basis for users to choose a CSP.

Moreover, passing the certification provides an important basis for users to choose a secure and credible cloud service provider.
