Generic Problem

1. How long does it take to create a BMS?

The fastest time to create a BMS is about 30 minutes.

2. What is the difference between BMS and ECS?

ECS is a cloud server where multiple tenants share physical resources. It integrates servers, bandwidth and storage services, and can be divided into various specifications according to performance and availability levels. You can choose the appropriate configuration based on actual business.

Physical resources of a BMS are exclusive to users and BMS is applicable to processor-intensive and disk I/O-intensive application scenarios. Combined with ECS Instance services and cloud storage services, ECS can also form a hybrid cloud architecture that meets different scenarios demand.

3. What is the difference between BMS and DH?

The Dedicated Host (DH) provides dedicated host resources to be isolated from other users. It has exclusive CPU, memory and disk resources. You can plan the number of instances independently, select a CPU/memory ratio of 1:8, and create an instance for free after purchasing the host.

The resources of BMS are exclusive to users. You can select the model and configuration suitable for your own business according to the business type, but you cannot plan the number of instances.

4. How do I connect to BMS?

BMS needs to be connected via a jump server:

(1) If your BMS is created in the SF network domain, it is recommended to create an ECS as a jump server in DMZ network domain under the same VPC. You can configure the Security Group rules in the outbound direction of ECS. For the configuration method, refer to the Security Group Configuration of ECS. BMS does not need to be configured with Security Group rules.

(2) If your BMS is created in DMZ network domain, it is recommended to create an ECS as a jump server in DMZ network domain under different VPCs. You need to enable the express connect for the mutual access of different VPCs. ECS configures the Security Group rules in the outbound direction and BMS configures the Security Group rules in the inbound direction.

5. Why can't I connect to BMS Instance?

Combined with the error message, the specific problem is analyzed in details. In general, you can find the solution as follows:

(1) Check if you cannot log in to the external network, and check if the NIC driver is enabled or if there are any problems with the NIC configuration.

(2) If you can turn off the firewall, first turn it off, and try to connect. If you can connect, adjust the firewall configuration strategy.

(3) Check the Security Group configuration rules of BMS Instance.

(4) Check if the remote access port is configured abnormally.

6. What types of Raid does the disk now support?

A: Raid5, Raid10.

7. Does it support EFS access?

A: Not yet. It is under planning.

8. Does it support accessing RBD cloud disk?

A: Not yet. Docking is in progress.
